After he studied for a few years at the faculty of art and design, Bandung Institute of Technology in 1980. He started to 

develop an interest in the ornamentation found in traditional and philosophy of various symbols he found in  primitive

life around Indonesia.

When he came back after two years studied in Essex Art college (England) for art theory and history,he started to move

from island to island throughout Indonesia trying to capture the inherent spirit, feeling  and  emotion  of  various  living

environments. He mixed with the natives of different island,living as one of them.He worked as a farmer,as a fisherman

moving from mountain to the valley then stepped out to fisherman villages and  spent  most  of  his  journey  along  the

beach that make him so deeply in love with  the  ocean  and  the  line  of t he  horizon, line  that  will  give  him  endless

inspiration for his painting.

He found Art as to be the most fun and important part of his life, the world where he expressing  the  emotion,  passion,

anger and love on the canvas after long meditation which he call "Inner world travelling". "In the process of my  painting,

I'm just a player of colours,lines,shape and space on my canvas,and keep playing from one  begining  to  other  begining

as long as my art is FUN for me" that what he always say.

In almost all his works,we can feel the sound of Indonesia traditional  environments expressed in abstract s tyle. Relying

on the strength of shapes from the feeling and the balance of emotion in such  a  way  that  they  give  us  a  harmonious

impression and are pleasant to look at.
